November 26: An enriching plenary meeting

02 déc 2024

For our last plenary of the year, we were welcomed by the Leonard de Vinci University Center in Courbevoie.

And we had the honor of welcoming our partner SOCODA GROUP, an alliance of independent multi-specialist distributors, serving construction and industry professionals.

The president of the management board, Pauline Mispoulet, accompanied by Vincent Kuss (Director of Transformation) and Pierre-Gilles Bordet (member of the management board and President of MOTELEC INDUSTRIE), presented the group's 2025 strategy.

GIFEC members thus had the opportunity to discover a vision of independent and family B2B distribution geared towards a sustainable future. The spirit of the long term and the desire to undertake were presented to us as the strengths of the SOCODA GROUP for their future development.

At the same time, 4 key themes were cited as essential to the success of SOCODA GROUP companies:

  • Commercial proximity: A solid and trusting customer relationship.
  • Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR): A priority for a sustainable future.
  • Data: A strategic lever for performance and innovation.
  • Logistics: Optimized management to meet market challenges.

Finally, one of the highlights of this presentation was the announcement of the SOCODA GROUP decarbonization plan, with concrete initiatives to promote the efforts of suppliers in terms of product responsibility and circularity.

After a friendly lunch, we had the privilege of giving the floor to renowned speakers: the director of EMLV - Ecole de Management Léonard de Vinci, Duc Khuong Nguyen, and Dr. Julien Chevallier, Associate University Professor. Together, they gave us comprehensive insight into the MACF (Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism) and answered our questions.

On the program:

  • MACF - A new balance for European industry in the face of the climate challenge?
  • Products concerned and sectors impacted
  • Calculation of the price of imported carbon
  • Impacts on businesses
  • Adaptive solutions
  • International dimension
  • Social issues

The presentation slides are available in the members area.

GIFEC is continuing its partnership with the Pôle Universitaire Léonard de Vinci within the framework of 3 projects, around the applications of AI in our professions, which it is deploying with 4th year engineering students at ESILV.
